Goddess Athena, according to greek mythology, offered to city of Athens and to all mankind, the first domesticated olive tree. The Athenians (or their king, Cecrops) accepted the olive tree and with it, the patronage of Athena, for the olive tree brought wood, oil, and food.
The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens in Greece which was dedicated to both Athena and god Poseidon. According to ancient greek mythology, the marks in the rock under the floor of the north porch of the Erechtheion, were at first those of god Poseidon’s trident strike.
